Men's International News

We flew out to Frankfurt on Saturday morning before playing Germany in the evening. We were expecting a low-key test series against them but they made it into a massive event with Germany vs England posters and ball boys wearing polos designed specifically for the event and drew massive crowds. We had a pretty tough game as we had just got off the plane and we lost 3-1.

Next day, we drove an hour and a half outside of Frankfurt to play the next match. Again it was a huge event with a big stand and crowds to match. Before push back there were parachuters. One who carried the match ball and others waving the English and German flags. Having been 2-0 down, we brought it back to be leading 3-2 but conceded in the last 10 minutes and ended up disappointedly losing 4-3. We had a rest day on the Monday where we trained and reinforced our strategies before playing on Tuesday. In front of another big crowd we won 3-2 and were delighted with the result as we definitely deserved it considering our improvements throughout.

Wack Jaller captained the team and Turner was in the leadership group. The series sets us in good stead for the upcoming Europeans in Valencia in late August and we have two more test series away in Belgium and Holland in preparation for that.

All of us at DUHC wish these boys the best of luck moving forward.

England's u21 Test Series against Germany

Jack Waller and Jack Turner

Scotland faces up against Dutch seniors and Irish u21s

Patch Christie

Scotland u21s and had a very successful two match series against Ireland, beating them 3-2 and 2-1 in a closely fought two match series.

Patch also had the honour of representing the men's side against the Dutch but unfortunatle the third best side in the world was too strong and the two scores were 6-1 and 4-1.

Patch is now in Russia playing in the u21 championsip and earlier today they secured a resounding victory against Italy, winning 5-1. A full match report is available if you click here. They unfortunately had lost earlier in the week to Poland and a full match report is available here.
